Rainy's Birthday Week! AGE 9!

I already started writing about day 1 of Rainy's birthday week, and haven't published it yet. But I am going to move on to day 2.

The PRIVATE HOUR!

Rainy wanted her private hour to be a trip to the movie theater, like she did the year prior.

Everything had to be done the same way as the year before. Right down to the soda and large popcorn!

Now what movie was chosen... THE SMURFS!

I hear this movie isn't getting the best of reviews... off the subject of birthdays...

I thought it a crying shame that they didn't make the original cartoons more available to the kidos, via netflix, and hulu, and youtube, and TV....

so basically only my generation knew all the little smurfy details and caught on to the 'lingo' and catch-phrases, etc.

Back to birthdays!

Rainy is soooooooooooo a primper. She used all THREE mirrors in my bathroom to get ready!

So first we had to primp... and I was TOLD I would primp too! :)

So we primped with make-up and hair-dos, and wore matching clips, and then primped. and primped!

Then we took pictures primping and primping.

And then Rainy took pictures of me primping, and then she took pictures of both of us primping.

There was lots of documentation of primping, and now I am prolonging the agony of primping. :)

Hey have I told you we primped? :)

Mascara was when we're stopped. No worries!

Then when we got in the car, Rainy primped more!

OK when we got to the movie theater all primping stopped...
because I had bought tickets to the wrong Smurfs!

I had purchased tickets to the Smurfs in 3D! So the excitement of getting to wear the glasses and watch it in 3D overtook personal hygiene and bows!

We bought our popcorn and soda and went in to the show with our fun glasses!

I had a great time and Rainy is so pretty and just is such a hilarious and energetic girl, and when you go on a private hour with her you just get to know her so much more.

Guess I will overlook that little Rainy Birdie filled my dryer with birdseed! (Irony :)... we have no bird. :)

I think we might all smell like burnt birdseed FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES! jk!

Rainy is silly in more than one way

So we did have green stuff despite our lack off lettuce for our nachos, tacos, and burritos...

Here is what Rainy asked for instead of lettuce though, while we were all preparing our plates. ----------->

Rainy: "Can you pass me the Grauccoli?" (Grock-o-lee)

After a pause, I realized she was asking for GUACAMOLE... but hey, it is green like BROCCOLI, so if it is green, sludgy, gunky, and slimy what does it matter what you call it, right? :)

I think Grauccoli is a good name for all green vegetables!!!

(Ok on a serious note... We love broccoli. Raw spinach and broccoli are the ONLY vegetables I can get the whole family to eat, so I am only joking, we really do eat veggies!)

Now let us get back to Rainy!

She is soooo funny with all her bracelets and anklets and necklaces, rings, bows, headbands, glitter, glamor, charisma, chic, mystique, and glam!

On the MLK Holiday, I took all the kids to the mall. A store was going out of business and everything was 75% off.

So you could imagine the look on all my munchkins faces when I said they could purchase ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING they wanted in the store.

(NO, there wasn't that much left in the store... I am not totally insane! There was just enough that they felt SO independent and excited, but couldn't spend too much.)

Rainy came home from school yesterday and said...

"Mommy, during PE, Timmy (a boy from my primary class and neighbor) were running towards each other and we just SMACKED (and she clapped her hand together loudly) our heads together! We got to go to the nurse and she gave us a lollipop. I felt bad for Timmy so I gave him mine."

Well I asked Rainy to show me her 'bonk' and I really didn't see much but a tiny bruise on her forehead, so I actually wondered to myself... why did they send her to the nurse?

Then last night, I taught at scout pack meeting (insects and science stuff of course) and one of our neighbors came up and said...

"Did you hear that Rainy and Timmy ran into each other and Timmy has a concussion and has been vomiting all day? He passed out and didn't even recognize his parents!"

WHAT????? FROM RAINY'S NOGGIN'? SHE IS FINE!!!!!!!

Anyway, it seems like after they smashed into each other, and both fell to the floor, Timmy again hit his head on the gym floor, and that probably sinched the deal for him... DANG!!!!!

So let me reiterate... Rainy is fine. No need to worry. Now Timmy... he is home from school today! (BTW... we went and checked on Timmy and he looked great last night except for the black eye.)

Can I just say HOLY DANG one more time?

Only a FOOL would doubt Rainy's invincibility!

Every time I ask her not to do some dangerous stunt, she says...

"But Mom, I am invincible!"

We went to a corn maze near our house, where the maze was cut out like David Archuleta's head (from American Idol). There were lots of other carnival type activities to do too.

trick or treating twice! Scoring large on the candy scale! She loves all candy, especially chocolate and laffy taffy, but she gave me all the candy bars that had coconut in them!!!

Yesterday we went to a luau sponsored by church. Rainy had a blast! There was this dirt hill she was sliding down with all her best of friends. I thought you might like a 'before' and an after shot!

Rainy wants noodles and meatballs as the birthday dinner that she gets to choose and for her birthday outing she wants us to take her out for pizza.

So I will put up some more pictures soon.

Rainy loved the necklace sent by Joshua, and is really excited to wear the slippers with her night gown tonight.

Brandon had a company breakfast and there were clowns and face painting!!! Rainy chose to be a fairy princess!!!!! This is an awesome picture because it is so clear and HUGE! Just click on it!!!! What a cutie!

Our Fashion Show

Sunday was a fun-filled & jam-packed day with the family. We had a fashion show (complete with an ingenious home-made runway of painters tape, new GAP clothes, flips, a flying fork, soaring pencils, riveting Macarena dancing, floor pinning, wrestling, laughing, giggling, and bonding!)

Then we had strawberry crêpes. Since it was a special fun day,

we got out the Mexican sprinkles. Ok!
we like to buy our ice cream sprinkles from Mexico, because here in America they are made out of wax, and in Mexico they are tutti frutti (like sweet-tarts), so we load up when we go to Guadalajara. This TOTALLY confuses airport security and we get stopped every time.

Well today was a fun morning! Rainy was very excited to get her Easter Basket. She went straight for the marshmallow bunny!! After filling up on candy and then eating breakfast, the girls changed into their new Easter Dresses. Then it was off to church. (Which is next door! VERY convenient!)

After church, (and more candy!) We went on a nature walk and everyone brought their new balls, from the Easter Bunny. Rainy's is yellow. (Her dress is yellow too.) Rainy's favorite color is RED, by far, but yellow is next in line for her.

After that, Rainy colored eggs with all the kids! Then it was off to the basement to watch Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium, while eating a blue raspberry ring pop!!!!!

It is almost time for my exciting dinner!! Green Apple Jello with cool wip and jetpuff bunny marshmallows!!!!!!!! (Well, there is a lot more than just that, but the jello is what Rainy is excited about! Although she is an excellent eater and will eat all the stuff that is good for her,
including all her vegetables!)

Brandon's Mom came over for dinner and she had her camera with her, so here are some better pictures.

Rainy really enjoyed the Easter egg hunt we had outside!

Disneyworld 2008

We went to all the Disneyworld parks! The Tower of Terror was Rainy's favorite ride!!!! She was almost hyperventilating by the end of the ride because she loved it soooo much. It was very cool, since other kids were terrified. She also loved space mountain, thunder mountain, and all the roller coasters, especially Rockn' Roller Coaster, which has a triple corkscrew upside down part!!!
